3AM brainstorming partner

It’s chilly here for the Northern hemi folks.

Yesterday I read a post on substack about people waking up at 5am, there was this one guy who said - Waking up at 5am is lame. I wake up at 4am. That’s when I accidentally wokeup at 3 today, and thought of a plan to custom code (with claude ofc) an CRM for my newsletter business and that can be also useful for my ecommerce, since I recently launched dtc brand for my amazon brand.

I planned to test out these two popular ERP softwares after many questions I asked on reddit - ERPNxt and Odoo.

However things took a 360 turn as I opened up my notion doc and started writing, I felt so much clarity so I just started to write and write. Begin to get so many question, and I recalled my last month’s session with chatgpt o1 preview. One of the most helpful sessions.

I wrote a whopping 3000+ words context file.

Explained all the business processes used elaborate flow charts, marketing strategies, and financials.I wrote a doc with all my learnings and shortcomings I’ve learned or experienced in past 4 months in this journey. Not only this, I asked it to specially ask me more relevant questions. It’s a business therapy.

I took out my phone pasted all the questions on the apple notes app and started dictating my thoughts opinions.

In no time this became humongous piece of literature. Literally, it could be so helpful if I just post it all right now, but I realised that building in public can be negative if I just blabber out my every move. I’ll be publicly publishing this, of course (without making a paid course about it) but after 3 months as I’ve moved past the initial phase, since these growth hacks could be quickly get saturated.

Goals

As an outcome of the new bigger context window (100k) that’s ~75-100pages.

I got such brilliant answers. This is the biggest use case. It’s helpful to talk to yourself and organize your thoughts with an birds eye view.

On high level these are the goals:
Month-by-Month Outline (High-Level):

• January: Get 1–2 paying sponsors (ad-hoc), generate ~US$1,000–US$1,500.

• February: Increase sponsor frequency to 2 ads/week; aim for ~US$2,000–US$3,000 total.

• March: Refine package / raise rates with better engagement metrics, shoot for US$5,000 in total revenue.

Oh I also made a beautiful tracker for the KPIs for the next 12 weeks.

I even gave it the un-subscribe surveys and asked it to analyse what the users truly meant. It translated it into beautifully written actionable bullets.

Feedback on Improvements

• Reduce the perceived clutter (either by sending fewer or more tightly focused emails).

• Improve list hygiene (so that truly uninterested folks don’t keep getting messages).

• Make your content more concise, more actionable, and more targeted to AI marketing (since that’s your niche).

• Mind the schedule—test out one consolidated weekly edition or at least let subscribers choose between more or fewer emails.
