🤩 Winning is winning

The goal was to monetize, and it was met.

That's important. We won't celebrate until it hits the account though - they typically take around 25 days to pay after the report. While this isn't a statistically significant amount, it proves this model works.

Instead of exploring other monetization avenues, I'll focus on ads and sponsorships.

The plan is to reach $1,250 per week to match our ~$5,000/month goal (140 days or 20 weeks to go). By my estimates, reaching this level requires either 100K medium-quality or 50K high-quality active subscribers.

I'm also launching an outreach campaign to attract advertisers.

One goal, 100% focus.

🐝 ‘Bee’ stings

Not all news is good, especially in entrepreneurship.

Since moving part of my audience to Beehiiv, despite better monetization, deliverability and click-through rates (CTR) have been declining. Subscriber retention is also lower compared to Substack, which offers network effects, consistent deliverability, and growing subscriber numbers.

I've contacted the Beehiiv team to diagnose these issues before migrating more subscribers. The last three sends have had subpar performance (<1% CTR). If we can't resolve this, we'll address it later.
