The Path to $5K: 100 Days Left

I'm excited as we approach the new year and the final stretch of this challenge.

With approximately 3.5 months left to reach $5K in revenue through sponsorships or newsletter clients, the pressure is on.

I'm choosing optimism as things are falling into place, thanks to improved focus. I credit this to my mentor's counseling and our newly established roadmap, which has helped me complete mini-goals more efficiently with greater clarity.

Ad Performance Update

This week has been all about advertising metrics:

  • Meta campaigns launched successfully

  • New subscriber open rates reached 50%

  • Subscriber acquisition cost: $5-7 per subscriber

    super bad ads but its improving (see next ss)

While the acquisition cost is 3.5 times higher than expected, it's still manageable based on industry benchmarks. The key is to intensify creative testing.

Next Week's Strategy:

  • Expanding to Reddit ads (targeting $2.5/subscriber)

  • Testing iPhone notes-styled creatives

  • Implementing motion graphics creatives

Infrastructure Updates

I've migrated to custom domain warming. While inbox placement rates could improve, I'm waiting for Beehiiv's smart warming feature to complete before evaluating alternatives like Kit.

This week's focus: Setting up infrastructure for sponsorship scoring and selling ad inventory beyond Beehiiv's network.
